At the end of January 2022 members of the DACWEED consortium were working in the Agrosap premises to ensure the proper communication between the sensors and the sprayer in different scenarios. It is critical to carefully assemble the system in order to verify that all connections function properly. The goal of the consortium is to have a prototype sprayer system and hoeing tool system ready to get in the field at the end of April. Spraying testing and validation will be performed both in Germany and Spain while hoeing tests and validation will be performed only in Germany. Furthermore, University of Hohenheim and CSIC are working to validate the robust/continuous use of the system and improve the in-field sensor performance while simultaneously document its effectiveness, selectivity, yield outcome, economic and environmental impact.
